The Wingardian talon (sign: Ŧ; code: WGT, also referred to as the talon, previously thalon) is the official currency of Wingarde per the Federal Constitution.
The talon is historically derived from the Falkensthaler, a silver coin introduced in the Sovereign Empire during the 16th century to complement its gold counterpart, the Geldmark. The modern name for the currency is a peculiar portmanteau of the words “thaler” and “talon”, the claw of a bird of prey and a reference to Wingarde's national animal, the Wingardian black hawk.
