The Wingardian black hawk (Buteogallus wingardiensis), historically also known as the imperial black hawk (German: Kaiserfalke), is a large bird of prey in the Accipitridae family whose wingspan can reach 1.8 metres (6 ft) due to insular gigantism. It is primarily found in the Wingarde Archipelago, where careful conservation efforts protect it from the effects of urbanization and prevent harmful habitat loss.
The Wingardian black hawk is both the national bird and national animal of the Democratic States of Wingarde. It has been featured in all of its historical flags, coats of arms and many institutional emblems since the dawn of the Imperial Era.
