The Orang Helang (Old Malay for “People of the Hawk” or “Hawk-people”) were an advanced stoneworking civilization which inhabited Wingarde Archipelago for centuries prior to the accidental arrival of proto-Wingardian Europeans.
The civilization's cohesive existence came to an abrupt end following a VEI-6 eruption of the Smaragdkopf in the 7th century AD.
